What is Online Chiropractic?

An idea...

I met Luke at the Down Under CrossFit Championships earlier in the year while I was treating the athletes. Luke had asked for some relief for his forearms and elbow. Being the way that I am, I prodded deeper and got the full story. Luke had severed his nerve in his arm and had required a nerve transplant to get function in his arm, but it had never been the same since. Despite getting treatment from practitioners over the years, the only thing that had helped it was CrossFit. Committed to trying to work out how I could help this seemingly unfixable issue, I asked if he was from Sydney - nope, he was from Bathurst. So I had the idea that I'd work with him online, no hands-on care, just a program.

Luke agreed and was keen.

What's Included with Online Chiropractic?

It starts with an initial consultation via TeleHealthWhat's involved:

  • Detailed History: Everyone is unique and has a personal story. I want to get to know you so that I can understand how your issue has manifested and what it's affected in your life.

  • Goal Setting: Once we have a deeper understanding of your issue and how it's affecting your life, we will work out your health goals. The question to think about is "if your issue went away right now, how would your life change?"

  • Physical Assessment: How well can you move the region? Are you compensating with other joints or muscles? Do you have good awareness of the region or is it hypersensitive? These are all the things we will assess to get an understanding of your function.

The next steps after our consult are:

  • Personalized Program: I collate all the information from our consult and reverse engineer a program from your health goal. It will be aligned with your schedule, be clear, and easy to follow.

  • Check-Ins and Updates: From your first week onwards, I will check in to see how you're going with the program. What improvements have you noticed? Anything particularly difficult or you're struggling with? Any external roadblocks affecting your ability to follow the program?

Based on your check-in, I will update the program for the next week.

We will then catch up for a follow-up via TeleHealth at an agreed time.It will involve:

  • Check-In: A detailed follow-up on how your issue is going, how your life is improving, how we're progressing towards your health goals, and if there have been any changes in your life that are affecting your program.

  • Physical Re-Assessment: Repeating the same tests you did initially - how much have they improved? Perhaps now we can test new movements that you weren't previously able to do.

The process will continue until you've reached your health goals.

Normally, this process takes anywhere between 3-6 months.

Who is Online Chiropractic for?

This is for people that are looking to become independent in their own lives.

You're sick of relying on "maintenance care" every month to just get by. Don't get me wrong, I'm a big fan of maintenance care, but I want to maintain good health, flourishing, and abundance. Not maintaining getting by for another month.

It's for people that are frustrated with having to rely on others for their own health. It's for people who can't afford consistent hands-on treatment.

Common Issues include:

  • Unexplained and unresolved pain or injuries

  • Sports and exercise movement assessment and guidance

  • Chronic back pain

  • Constant neck tightness and headaches

  • Jaw issues

  • Shoulder pain that hasn't responded to cortisone injections and standard rehab

  • Running-related feet and leg pain

  • Pelvis and pelvic floor dysfunction

  • Nervous system dysregulation

Why Online Chiropractic works?

In my experience, patients that become reliant on care tend to do worse than people who take control and independence in their own health.

My aim is to provide patients with the understanding that their body is strong and capable, and give them the tools in order for them to build evidence that that's the case.

In the long term, as you become confident and feel strong in your body, my aim is that you enjoy physical exercise and are capable of doing all the things you love to do, which will lead to a healthier and more fulfilling lifestyle - ambitious I know, but I truly, wholeheartedly believe this to be the case and that's the mission of Online Chiropractic for me.

How's Luke going?

Within one week, he got more feeling and sensation in his arm, he got more control in his fingers and forearm, he felt less tightness and better use of his arm as a whole, and was able to grip better in CrossFit, which was one of his goals he mentioned on our first video call.
